Daniel Oriahi’s The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives will have its world premiere in the Centrepiece programme at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF 2026).
The adaptation of Lola Shoneyin’s novel stars Omowunmi Dada, Iyabo Ojo, Mercy Aigbe, Bimbo Ademoye, Odunlade Adekola, Bisola Aiyeola, Constance Olatunde, Maleek Sanni, Olarotimi Fakunle, Bimbo Manuel, and others.
TIFF’s 2026 Centrepiece Programme, presented by Intrepid Travel, features 54 films from 50 countries, including Nigeria.
The Baba Segi Collective recently announced that the viral song “Na Woman Finish My Papa” will feature on the film’s soundtrack after securing the rights to the track.
The film follows Bolanle, Baba Segi’s educated fourth wife, whose arrival into a polygamous household begins to reveal secrets hidden within the family.
EbonyLife Films, Genesis Pictures, Nile Group, Silverbird Group, and Flytime Promotions produce The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives.
The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives is set for a December 4, 2026 theatrical release.
