Femi Adebayo’s Jagun Jagun 2 will premiere on Netflix on December 4, 2026, nearly two years after filming wrapped.
An official press release from the producers also reveals the sequel’s title, WOW (War of Warriors), signalling the return of the warrior world that audiences encountered in the original film.
Principal photography on the sequel was completed in 2024, but details surrounding its release remained limited. The newly announced date brings an end to the prolonged wait for viewers who have been anticipating the continuation of the story since the first instalment premiered on Netflix in August 2023.
The Jagun Jagun franchise centres on a world shaped by warfare, ambition, loyalty and the pursuit of power. The original film follows Gbotija, a young warrior whose path leads him into the service of Ogundiji, a feared warlord whose authority rests on military strength and intimidation.
Beyond its battle sequences, the film explores the consequences of unchecked power and the conflicts that emerge when loyalty and ambition collide. These themes established the foundation for a sequel that now returns under the banner of War of Warriors.
Adebayo, whose other productions include King of Thieves (Agesinkole) and Seven Doors, has continued to explore Nigerian stories through historical settings, indigenous traditions and large-scale dramatic narratives. The original Jagun Jagun also introduced international Netflix audiences to its portrayal of Yoruba warrior culture and mythology.
The announcement did not include a detailed synopsis or cast list.
With its December premiere approaching, viewers can revisit the original film on Netflix before the story continues.
