Onibọn Oje, a new Yoruba epic from Exceptional Pictures and Pacesetter Film Arena, arrives in cinemas nationwide on October 23, 2026.
Set in an ancient Yoruba kingdom, the film follows a once-peaceful community whose way of life is shattered by the arrival of a fierce warlord. As fear spreads and the kingdom faces an increasingly brutal threat, an unlikely warrior rises from among the townspeople to confront the enemy and seek vengeance.
The film features an ensemble cast led by Odunlade Adekola, alongside Fathia Balogun, Kolawole Ajeyemi, Joke Muyiwa, Raphael Niyi, Rasaq Olayiwola, and Bose Akinola.
Produced by Mustapha Jayeola and directed by Mustapha Jayeola and Olawale Samson Adebayo, Onibọn Oje draws on the scale and spectacle of Yoruba epic storytelling, combining traditional culture, warfare and communal struggle.
Shot at Pacesetter Film Arena, a new film village in Ibadan, Onibọn Oje features purpose-built sets that bring its fictional Yoruba kingdom to life, from palaces and warriors to its wider world of conflict and community.
With its theme of power, resistance, and retribution, the film joins a growing slate of indigenous-language stories created for the theatrical experience.
Exceptional Pictures and Pacesetter Film Arena produced Onibọn Oje. It is distributed theatrically by Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution. Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution will distribute it theatrically, and it will open in cinemas across Nigeria on October 23, 2026.
