Ibadan, Nigeria — October 2026: Ntetee Foundation hosted a special screening of Dazzling Mirage at the University of Ibadan on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, bringing together over 200 students and young people for an evening of film, conversation and health advocacy.
The screening, held at the Faculty of Law, used Tunde Kelani’s film, released in Nigerian cinemas in 2015, as a starting point for conversations around sickle cell, stigma, representation and genotype awareness.
Alongside the screening, attendees had access to free genotype testing, with 184 people tested—exceeding the Foundation’s initial target of 100.
The event also featured a post-screening conversation and an interactive trivia session sponsored by Nolly Guide. Dr Olayinka Egbokhare, author of the novel Dazzling Mirage, attended the screening and donated 30 copies of the book for distribution to students.
For Ntetee Foundation, the screening was more than a film event. It demonstrated the Foundation’s approach to using storytelling as an entry point for health advocacy, creating spaces where young people can engage with difficult health issues and move from conversation to action. In this case, a film became the starting point for conversations, testing and greater awareness among a new generation.
