Tope Olowoniyan’s A Summer for Fountain, produced by Bayla Productions, began streaming on Tope Olowoniyan TV on YouTube on September 10.
The story follows Fountain Aja, a woman who has always led with her head, not her heart. She’s engaged to a man she chose like a business decision, but an urgent call home forces her to confront the messy and uncertain kind of love she has spent years avoiding
Kunle Remi, Tope Olowoniyan, Deyemi Okanlawon, Omowunmi Dada and Joke Silva lead the cast, with Chioma Okafor, Angel Unigwe, Mofe Jebutu, Leo Orji, Tracey George, Jasmine Olarotimi, Jide “JBlaze” Oyegbile and Ope Bello rounding out the ensemble.
Jide “JBlaze” Oyegbile directed the film from a screenplay by Anwuri Ijenebe. Tope Olowoniyan serves as producer, with Leolidas Ewane as associate producer
Olowoniyan’s channel has mainly featured talk shows and celebrity interviews. In December 2024, she released the 11-part Christmas special, My Favourite Christmas Memory with Tope, featuring guests including Bisola Aiyeola and Kehinde Bankole.
Speaking to OYA Magazine, Olowoniyan explained why she chose YouTube for the release.
“YouTube felt like the right home for A Summer for Fountain because it gives us the opportunity to take our stories directly to people everywhere and build a real relationship with the audience.”
She said releasing films was part of the channel’s existing plan.
“I wouldn’t say this marks a new direction for Tope Olowoniyan TV. It is really the structure we are building. The first half of the year is focused on our talk shows, and in the second half, we explore films.”
Olowoniyan added that the channel would remain open to different formats, with both its films and talk shows intended for a global audience.
A Summer For Fountain is streaming now on Tope Olowoniyan TV.
