AfroJazz legend Lagbaja will headline AfroJazz Fest 2026, themed To The Roots, on 23 December at Amore Gardens, Lekki, as the festival returns to Lagos this Detty December.

He will be joined by live music duo The Cavemen and KoyeSax, a pioneer of the AfroJazz movement. The event will mark KoyeSax’s first time sharing the stage with Lagbaja in eleven years. Reflecting on their previous performance, KoyeSax said the experience changed how he sees live performances as an artist and expressed excitement about sharing the stage with the masked music legend again.

The three acts bring different generations and expressions of African music to the festival, with performances rooted in the sounds and traditions that continue to shape the continent’s musical identity.
According to co-founder Tade Adeniyi, the vision for the 2026 edition goes beyond a music festival. “It is to build a cultural experience that celebrates the richness of African music, heritage and creative expression,” he said.
The theme, To The Roots, reflects the festival’s focus on African musical heritage and the sounds that continue to influence contemporary music.
The festival will combine live performances with food, drinks, culture and entertainment, offering audiences a full December experience at Amore Gardens.
