Exactly six months after its cinema run, Nora Awolowo’s crime thriller, Red Circle, is coming to Kava TV on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
The announcement was made via Kava’s official Instagram page. Directed by Akay Mason, the film is Awolowo’s feature-producing debut under Rixel Studios. The cast features a star-studded lineup, including Tobi Bakre, Omowunmi Dada, Lateef Adedimeji, Folu Storms, Mike Afolarin, Timini Egbuson, Mr. Macaroni, and Ruggedman, alongside Nollywood veterans, Bukky Wright and Femi Branch.
Red Circle follows Fikayo Holloway, an aspiring journalist from a wealthy Lagos family. In her pursuit of a career-defining story, she becomes entangled in a dangerous investigation into a powerful crime syndicate following the suspicious death of her best friend.
The film launched in cinemas on June 6, 2025, and became a breakout hit, grossing over 100 million naira within its first three weeks. This milestone made the then 26-year-old Nora Awolowo one of the youngest producers in Nollywood to cross the nine-figure mark with a non-franchise title.
Following its theatrical run, the film moved to a community cinema circuit in August 2025 through a partnership between Fusion Intelligence and Café One. Screenings were held at Café One hubs in Uyo, Owerri, Enugu, and Kaduna. Despite technical glitches during the pilot screenings, the film raked in 300,000 Naira.
The momentum continued into the holidays. Fusion Intelligence CEO Kolade Adewoye reported that over 500 people attended an open-air screening in Ilorin on December 26, 2025, proving the film’s “cult following” status driven by an intentional, high-octane marketing campaign.
The decision to move to Kava TV reflects a broader repositioning of the Nollywood distribution pipeline. As international streamers scaled back investments in Nigeria last year, homegrown platforms have moved to secure premium local content. Kava TV, a joint venture between Inkblot Studios and FilmHouse, launched in August 2025. It is currently home to several recent Nollywood hits, including Alakada: Bad and Boujee, Owambe Thieves, What About Us?, and House Job. Other domestic players currently shaping the landscape include EbonyLife ON Plus, Circuits TV, ENFITV, and FaithStream.
