The trailer for Invitation to Kill, a new thriller from Big Tiger Production, previews a story built around financial challenges, fractured family bonds, and a looming legal battle. At the centre is Kalu Ikeagwu, who plays an agro-business man whose poultry farm suffers a devastating loss following a disease outbreak.
The trailer’s emotional weight comes through in two key exchanges. The first is his wife’s despairing statement: “We are drowning,” she says. “This is not the life I envisioned”.
The second is his daughter’s sharp rebuke to her mother, accusing her of returning “not with love, but with documents to take 80% of what you did not lift a finger to earn.”
The trailer connects the marriage breakdown to a later dispute over the poultry farm. While their daughter accuses her mother of abandoning the family during its financial crisis, his wife says she sacrificed the best years of her life for the marriage. A new relationship further complicates her return: the husband tells another woman that she has made him believe he can be happy again.
The story also hints at corruption through the line, “Nothing moves without lubrication”.
Also starring in the production are Greg Ojefua, Oma Iyasara, Tonia Chukwurah, Annabel Thaddeus and Efua Bona.
Directed by Chuks “Big Tiger” Obaze and distributed by Tribe Nation Theatrical Distribution, Invitation to Kill is a thriller that emphasises loss, betrayal, and fatherhood.
The film opens in cinemas across Nigeria and Ghana today, Friday, September 11, 2026.
